Practising photoshop

This was the front cover I made when I was practicing using photoshop. I decided to keep the background white so that the images of the black and white checkers and the graffiti will stand out more. I think it makes the background look more exciting and intriguing. I decided that the theme colour of the magazine would be purple so then it ties in with the colour of the E4 logo. I used the Polygonal Lasso Tool to create the purple sharp outline for the images of the cast in the programme, I thought this would highlight the actors/actresses. A stereotypical aspect of a magazine front cover is to state what issue the magazine is, so I used a text box and wrote in a purple font to say 'Issue 1'.

Now having done this task, I feel much more confident in using this programme. The three hours of classwork has made me much more familiar with the tools and I think it will give me the opportunity to make my music magazine look far more professional.
